Reliable Movers Moving Guidelines & Policies

These Moving Guidelines explain what customers can expect from Reliable Movers and what we expect from our customers before, during, and after the move. Please review this information before moving day to help prevent delays, avoid misunderstandings, and ensure your move is completed as efficiently as possible.

These guidelines apply to local moving, long-distance moving, interstate moving, storage services, packing services, and specialty moving services provided by Reliable Movers.

Payment Policies

Reliable Movers accepts cash and major credit cards. Personal checks are not accepted. Credit card payments are subject to a 3.7% processing fee. For interstate and long-distance moves, final payment must be made before unloading begins unless other arrangements have been approved in writing.

Customer Responsibilities

  • Confirm move dates and addresses before moving day.
  • Keep driveways, sidewalks, and entrances clear.
  • Remove snow, ice, or other hazards from walkways.
  • Pack and label boxes before the movers arrive.
  • Keep valuables, medications, keys, and documents with you.

Packing Preparation

All boxes must be closed, taped, and labeled by room. Fragile items must be packed securely and marked fragile. Lampshades, bulbs, small pictures, glass shelves, and delicate items should be packed by the customer before moving day.

Furniture Preparation

Furniture disassembly and reassembly are included when possible. Dressers may remain assembled, but long dressers, nightstands, armoires, desks, and filing cabinets should be emptied when needed to prevent damage, spills, or unsafe lifting conditions.

Moving Day Procedures

  • A walkthrough should be completed before loading begins.
  • Customers must identify all items being moved.
  • A final truck walkthrough should be completed after unloading.
  • Inventory changes may result in additional charges.
  • Truck size estimates are based on the inventory provided.

Specialty Items

Pianos, gun safes, hot tubs, oversized furniture, antiques, large appliances, and commercial equipment must be disclosed before moving day. Specialty items may require additional labor, equipment, planning, and charges.
